It's Getting Hot in Here! PDF Print E-mail

WOW!  maui is as hot and humid as it gets right now......It's almost too unbearable to do massage!  We survived the so-called Hurricane, nothing but some rain and wind for one morning.....however, the weather has now turned hot and muggy reminding me of August in New York City!

Just wanted to pop in here and say I have started the second book in the Steig Larson trilogy, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and it is most likely going to be better than the first one!  Get into Costco now and get your copy....

I'm looking forward to a delicious Shabbos meal tonite, Nico is making his amazing Challah bread and matzo ball soup.....one of the best things about being Jewish is the food!

Have a wonderful weekend and if you are here on Maui, get in the ocean to beat the heat....that's where I'm headed now....

LOOKING FOR A GOOD MASSAGE IN NYC.......Nico and I will be taking our Annual mainland vacation on August 24th.  We are both working for Another Planet Entertainment in San Francisco at Outside Lands Music Festival.  We will be overseeing the backstage environment for the artists performing at the show.  This is what I used to do for years at Bill Graham Presents.  I tell people I'm going to "guest-star" in my old life.....after a giant week of work we fly to NYC for 8 glorious days of big city fun.  I am looking for some good massage in Manhattan....if you are reading this and live in the NYC area, please email me with your suggestions.

GREAT FOOD IN KIHEI - We have a new cafe in Kihei called Coconuts Fish Cafe.  The owner has taken a cue from Paia Fish Market and created a ono-licious fish burger.  The fish tacos are also amazing.  Coconuts is located in the Azeka Plaza near Stella Blues and The Coffee Store.  1274 S. Kihei Road #304

Cuatro is a new restaurant by the owner of Sansei and the Executive Chef of Sansei.  It features "asian meets latin" cuisine and is very delicious.  Their signature dish is the Ahi Nachos, the nacho part being asian wonton crisps.  I especially love the Southwestern Chicken and the spicy crab cakes.  If you are seated before 6 pm, it's 25% off.  Cuatro is located next to Sansei in the Foodland plaza.....

Da Kitchen is an old standby for local kine food, but I just have to mention the Korean Chicken.  Crispy bits of chicken with a special asian sweet sauce.....yum!  I love it.

Cafe O'Lei serves the best meal deal in town for lunch.  $8.99 gets you the mahi mahi of the day, ceaser salad and rice.  Cannot be beat!  Both Da Kitchen and Cafe O'Lei are in the Rainbow Plaza on South Kihei Road at the Wailea end......while you are in Rainbow Mall, don't forget to try the World Famous Kona Bean shake at the coffee shack located in the corner of the parking lot....

For more restaurant ideas and cheap and cheerful food tips, feel free to give me a call.  While you book your massage, we can talk about FOOD!

A Hui Hou!

Great Beach Reading PDF Print E-mail

If you are headed to Maui, pick up this amazing book....The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson.  It is an international bestseller and I just finished reading it.  Amazing.  A crime drama set in Sweden, this one will keep you on the edge of your beach chair.  You won't be able to put it down.  They have it at Costco right now for $8.  This book was written as part of a trilogy and the second one is also now at Costco.  Check it out!  When you book a massage, let me know how you liked it.....

Aloha!

Goddess & Icon PDF Print E-mail

Goddess & Icon......this is what I entitled this picture when I published it back in 1998 in San Francisco.  Yes, that is really Michael Jackson standing behind me.  No, I was not a massage therapist when I worked for him.  Back then I worked for the legendary SF rock promoter, Bill Graham, and I got a job on Michael Jackson's History Tour in 1997.  MJ took me around the world and it was all very interesting and exciting.  My job was Production Assistant, but I called it Answer Lady.  I answered questions all day every day.

In respect to Michael's recent passing to the spirit world, I thought I'd post this photo here.  I firmly believe that all paths in my life, all jobs I have worked, all the people I met, led me to this moment and to this life I live on Maui as a Massage Therapist.  Massage is one form of service.  Working for Michael Jackson is another.

This photo was taken on stage in Johannesburg, South Africa.  It was almost the end of the tour and Michael took pictures with the entire crew.  I am 5' 10" , he is taller than me, but was standing behind me.  He was also very frail, his handshake was a bit limp.  I remember being amazed at how frail he was considering what he did each night in front of crowds of more than 100,000 people.  That was the size of those shows back then, gigantic.  I also remember being amazed that as an American, at the time MJ could not have sold one ticket in America but in Europe there was mayhem everywhere we went.  People went nuts.  One show that we did had close to 150,000 people, just at one show!

I'm not gonna say much more, but suffice to say if the press was a lot nicer to him while he was with us, he may still be here today.

For more stories of my prior life as a rock and roll servant, you will just have to get a massage from me and ask your questions........until then.....
