Kihei favorite, Pita Paradise, is now open in the new Wailea Gateway Center. There is also a Subway shop. Good news for Wailea, new low cost dining choices.....
Looking forward to a busy summer and looking forward to working on you!

Ed Klouda was one of our most favorite clients. He and his lovely wife, Char Les, spend every winter in Maui for over 30 years. Nico and I started working on Ed about 4 years ago. Every Friday at 3 pm he would get a massage from either myself or Nico and most times both of us together for a four-handed experience. He was full of life and great stories. Ed didn't make it to Maui last winter and this year he passed on. We would just like to say A Hui Hou Ed! Mahalo for touching our lives forever.
We will be purchasing a lantern for Ed and carrying it in the Lantern Floating Ceremony at Lahaina Jodo Mission on July 3rd. The Lantern Floating Ceremony is part of Bon Dance and the Obon Season here on Maui.

Aloha and Happy Spring Equinox -
I have recently been contacted by the nice people at www.asbestos.com who are working diligently to create resources for the millions of men and women in the US who are affected with Mesothelioma or cancer related to asbestos exposure. My father, Glenn Stewart, was affected with this disease as a result of his lifetime work as a sheet metal contractor. He passed away in 1991 from lung cancer at the age of 58, his cancer was directly related to his exposure to asbestos.
The folks at the Mesothelioma Center have created a website for alternative healing for those suffering from the effects of cancer and other asbestos related illness. Massage has been linked to alleviating the nausea associated with chemotherapy and the pain incurred from the constant surgeries that some cancer patients undergo. The Mesothelioma Center is an up-to-date resource for all related issues. Please visit them at www.asbestos.com

Yikes! It's 2010 already! Things have been busy here on Maui. I am now running this business and working as a Lead Therapist at the Spa at Black Rock on the weekends. So rest assured when you book a massage from me here at Na Alii, you are getting a five star experience!
Food. Let's talk about food. It's a big part of your vacation, right? Well my current favorite is the Seafood Cobb Salad served at Ferraro's in the Four Seasons Wailea during lunch time. It is soooo good and full of lobster, crab and shrimp. A must try.
Gannons Sea View - Just recently remodeled this is the old Seawatch location at the Wailea Gold course. Bev Gannon has done it again. There is also a lounge called Red Bar. Food is good, but I am waiting for them to iron out the kinks before I go back. You may want to give them a try, however, you can't beat the view. For the price, however, I'm going to Ferraros at the Four Seasons and be waited on hand and foot!
808 Bistro - New restaurant in the old Greek Bistro location on S. Kihei Road behind Fred's. I've heard it's delicious and can't wait to give it a try.
Cane & Taro - New restaurant by the owner of Sansei. Killer menu and excellent location it is sure to please even the pickiest eater. Located at the Whaler Shops on Kaanapali Beach directly adjacent to Hula's. Nico and I loved our lunch there and can't wait to go back. Guests at the Spa at Black Rock are raving about it.
Casanova's Bistro - New restaurant in the old Manana Garage location in Kahului. Had a late night New Year's Day meal here because it was the only thing open and boy was I pleasantly surprised! YUM! We loved it. Can't wait to go back again.
Whole Foods opens in Kahului Maui Mall on February 24th at 9 am. Finally!
Cheers! - Laura |
